Hollywood 101: Getting started in the
industry

Courtnee Draper and her mother, Rosemarie, will
teach you everything you need to know about how to
get started in the professional entertainment
business!  The first half of the class will be for both
parents and kids to learn and ask questions about
how to get started in the business: Topics covered:
Taking headshots, submitting to agents and
managers, the audition process, booking jobs,
contracts, and more. The second half of the
workshop will be a scene study class for the
students to not only showcase their talent, but also
to work with scene partners and get some pointers
from Courtnee!

Improvisational Workshop

Learn the art of improv!  Spend all morning playing
quick-witted, free-associative improvisational games.
Learn exercises to help you loosen up in front of an
audience, bring out your naturally funny side, and
most importantly - have fun!

Commercial Workshop

Develop the skills to book commercials!  Learn the
balance between selling a product and over-selling a
product, know how to make yourself stand out
among the hundreds of other actors auditioning for
your part!  Get tips on commercial-directed
headshots, learning how to slate in front of a
camera, what to wear, and more!

Theatre Workshop

Learn about the actor's "fourth wall", character
development, stage direction, projection, and more!
In this live theatre workshop, actors will both work on
and develop both theatre technique, as well as
participate in scene study from broadway and
off-broadway shows both old and new.

Film/Television Workshop

Learn the subtle skill of film and television acting!
Far different from any other acting medium, such as
commercials or live theater, film and television work
thrives with subtle performances, strong eye contact,
and naturalism.  Learn these techniques and more
while working in pairs on scenes from your favorite
television and movie scripts.

Audition Workshop

Audition like a pro!  We all know you're talented, but
the hardest part of acting is getting your foot in the
door and making a good impression!  Learn how to
take your talent and excel in auditioning.  Turn those
nervous butterflies into positive energy and do your
best every time - making sure long after you're gone
those casting directors will remember your name and
your talent!. Learn how to prepare for auditions, how
to cold read, where to find casting sessions, what to
wear to auditions, character development for
audition scenes, and most importantly, how to make
a lasting impression and book the job!
